Premiere for a New Experience
Welcome to Junibacken in Stockholm during the autumn break! Get ready for theater performances every day, Astrid Lindgren’s magical Story Train, and playful exhibitions where we open the doors to a brand new, exciting experience on October 24th! The autumn break at Junibacken begins on October 14th and runs until November 3rd.
Autumn Break 🍁 = Reading Break 📚
Did you know that the autumn break is actually called the reading break? At Junibacken, we use children’s books as a source in everything we do, aiming to ignite the spark for lifelong reading.
During the official reading break, week 44, reading-promoting activities and events are held across the country. The goal is to stimulate children’s and young people’s desire for reading, storytelling, and writing in all its forms and in all imaginable places.
Activities at Junibacken during the autumn break
During the reading break, Junibacken will be filled with magical and (appropriately) spooky activities based on the “Ghost Bureau” books written by Kristina Ohlsson and illustrated by Moa Wallin.
The following activities will take place at Junibacken during the reading break:
- Ghost Hunt: Find 6 ghosts from the Ghost Bureau that have hidden somewhere in Junibacken 👻
- Ghost Writing School: Write your very own ghost story ✍️
- Storytime: Every day, we read a sample from the exciting book series, the Ghost Bureau, in Junibacken’s Bookstore 📚
Theater Every Day
At Junibacken, several theater performances are held each day—every day during the autumn break period! For the current performance schedule, please see our calendar.
Book your theater ticket
The theater ticket is included in the entrance fee. However, for guaranteed seating at our performances, we recommend pre-booking your theater ticket.
The Ghost Agency
The books about "The Ghost Agency" are thrilling and clever reads for children in the lower primary school ages, written by the master of suspense, Kristina Ohlsson. Moa Wallin has created the generous illustrations featuring magical settings. "The Case of the Cruel Game" is the sixth standalone book in the series.
